Browse Dallas ZIP Code Areas

A ZIP label is useful for mail, but it is only one part of a Dallas address. The Dallas ZIP code directory helps sort delivery areas before a person checks the parcel, city, county, or court jurisdiction that applies. Start with a complete street address when possible. Then verify the delivery form and retain the city, county, and parcel details separately. That small habit prevents a postal label from being mistaken for a city-limit line or a list of residents.

Dallas ZIP Code Coverage

A City of Dallas council memo lists a broad family of ZIP codes within the city. It includes standard delivery codes, PO-box codes, and unique or institutional codes. The list is not a neighborhood roster, and its labels do not settle city limits or county jurisdiction. Use it as a first sorting tool, then verify the actual delivery address and the parcel. Neighborhood names below are common Dallas-area orientation, not official ZIP boundaries.

The complete memo list runs from many 752xx delivery areas through selected 753xx codes. It should not be read as proof that every address using a Dallas postal city sits inside the City of Dallas. A ZIP code directory is most useful when its result remains paired with a full street address and a date checked.

Dallas ZIP Code Directory Types

Dallas has standard delivery ZIPs as well as PO-box and unique codes. The 75246, 75258, 75260, 75270, 75275, and 75277 group includes Baylor or central institutional, PO-box, and downtown unique uses. The 75283-75285 and many 753xx groups are unique, PO-box, institutional, or high-volume delivery codes. They belong in the Dallas ZIP code directory, but they do not describe a normal residential area. A postal code can identify a delivery arrangement without identifying a neighborhood or a parcel.

Keep postal geography separate from records geography. A Dallas address can have a postal city, a Dallas County tax custodian, a DCAD parcel, a Dallas permit system, a court jurisdiction, and a ZIP that crosses another boundary. Enter each as its own field in research notes. That approach keeps a ZIP match from turning into an unsupported statement about city residence, municipal services, or county coverage.

Note: A unique or PO-box ZIP is a delivery designation, so USPS confirmation and the underlying street or parcel record remain necessary.

Dallas USPS Address Checks

USPS ZIP Code Lookup is the delivery check for a normalized street address or city and state. Use the street number, suffix, unit, and city after spelling has been checked. Then compare the result with the physical location shown in DCAD. Three labels can legitimately differ: the DCAD situs address identifies the property, a tax or voter record can carry a mailing address, and USPS supplies the delivery address. None of those labels automatically proves who occupies the property.

USPS ZIP Code Lookup is the official address and city-state verification form used after a Dallas address has been normalized.

A ZIP+4 adds carrier-route precision at a delivery point. It does not redraw the City of Dallas boundary, establish a county, or supply a resident list.

Dallas Voter ZIP Filters

The public Texas voter lookup is for an individual registration check, not a ZIP-wide list. Its name route uses first name, last name, date of birth, county, and a ZIP-type location confirmation. A VUID or supplied Texas driver-license information can be preferable for a common name. The result reports registration status and polling-place information. It is not a ballot-choice record or a substitute for the separate voter-file request process.

The Texas Secretary of State Form 24-1 is the voter-registration data public-information request and affidavit. It offers county or entire-state scope, active, suspense, or cancelled selections, a Texas mailing-address filter, date, age, sex, and election-related filters, plus delivery choices. The fixed-width output layout includes permanent and mailing city and ZIP fields. The collected materials do not document a free public ZIP search field in the individual lookup, so use the affidavit only for a lawful request and confirm the current form before ordering.

Texas SOS Form 24-1 is the source for the voter-file request fields, delivery choices, affidavit, and fee schedule. Texas Election Code sections 13.004 and 18.005 protect identifiers and regulate the public and confidential portions of voter records.

Dallas ZIP Parcel Searches

DCAD is the practical handoff when a ZIP code is known but not searchable by itself. Its address search accepts a number, direction, street name, building or suite, city, and optional number range. Street name needs at least two characters without spaces, and the portal advises omitting the street type when appropriate. The map can search by a 17-digit account, property address, owner name in Last First form, or the first part of a DBA. Use the property-address link in the result to reach the parcel detail.

Parcel Identify can show the account, location, owner, mailing address, and value. Multiple accounts use a Next control. The map’s current release notes 2026 aerial imagery and historic parcels, but DCAD says contemporary boundaries are approximate and reflect changes since certification. For an older parcel question, retain the legal description and confirm it against the certified GIS product or deed record. A situs address is property evidence, not a blanket finding about a current resident.

Dallas ZIP Boundary Mismatches

ZIP codes are postal delivery constructs, not city-limit lines. The 75234 area is a useful reminder because it includes a Farmers Branch association. ZIP 75287 can extend across Dallas, Collin County, and neighboring-city contexts. A Dallas postal city can be outside Dallas city limits, and a city address can use a PO-box or unique ZIP. The court, tax, and city agency that has a record may therefore differ from what a mailing line suggests.

City-limit check. Treat the ZIP, postal city, municipal city, county, and parcel as separate fields. Test a boundary address with USPS, DCAD or city mapping, and the custodian for the record needed.

Dallas is a large, polycentric city with areas such as downtown, Oak Cliff, East Dallas, Lake Highlands, North Dallas, Fair Park, the Medical District, Design District, Pleasant Grove, and far-north ZIP areas. Those names help people orient themselves, but a parcel, city limit, precinct, court, and ZIP boundary may disagree. That is why a ZIP code directory should narrow a search, not end it.

Dallas ZIP Code Terms

Postal terms explain why a Dallas ZIP code result can be precise for delivery yet incomplete for records research. Use the USPS delivery form for mail, the parcel label for land, and a custodian’s jurisdiction for records. Keeping those functions separate makes it easier to explain why an address and a ZIP match without making a claim about a resident.

ZIP code
A postal delivery code. It is not a city-boundary line or a resident list.
ZIP+4
An added delivery-point code that improves carrier-route precision. It does not prove city limits or occupancy.
PO-box ZIP
A code that serves post-office boxes rather than a neighborhood of street-address parcels.
Unique ZIP
A code assigned to one organization or high-volume delivery point, which may not identify a residential area.
Carrier route
An operational mail-delivery path. It is useful for delivery routing, not a civic or parcel boundary.

Dallas ZIPs in Perspective

Dallas had 1,304,379 residents in the 2020 Census and a 2024 estimate of 1,326,087. That scale helps explain why a broad ZIP label is not a person-finding tool. The City of Dallas ZIP list includes standard delivery areas, special delivery codes, PO boxes, and unique institutional codes. One ZIP can cross neighborhood shorthand, a school district, a city edge, or a county line. An address, date, and the right custodian give the code practical meaning.

DallasNow is the city’s current cloud platform for permitting, planning, platting, inspections, and engineering. DCAD map materials also describe 2026 aerial imagery and historic parcels. Those systems can change, so check the live portal and its date before relying on a current interface. For historical work, pair a ZIP with an address and year, then use directory, permit, map, deed, or archive sources that match the question.
